Job Vacancy: Electrical Panel Builder

About Us:
Simonswood Automation is a market leader in control systems specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality industrial control panels and systems, based near Wigan. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Panel Builder to join our team. We respectfully ask for applications from individuals only as we are not considering agencies.

Role Summary:
As a Panel Wireman, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical control panels, ensuring they meet both company and industry standards. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Assemble and wire control panels, cabinets, and enclosures to high standards.
• Install components such as relays, circuit breakers, and PLCs.
• Perform testing and fault-finding on completed panels.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards and company quality assurance procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.
• Occasionally work on UK sites to assist with panel installation and commissioning.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Panel Wireman or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Skilled in wiring and crimping.
• Strong understanding of electrical components and control systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must have own transport due to the location of the role and occasional travel to sites.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of PLC programming and integration.
• Experience in the automation or manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices in an electrical environment.
